Where's Chairman Mao?

PYB thought Mao Tse Tung was dead. However, in watching this week's version of "The Bo Pelini Show" his tenets are alive and well. The show conveniently cut out the opening 76-yard kickoff return by Virginia Tech, their touchdown to make it 7-0 AND also the winning touchdown that made it 16-15. Truly laughable!

We (and the rest of the sports nation) watched what happened and didn't forget over the last four days. Why bother cutting this out? It only erodes any credibility the show had left.....as it has become nothing but a highlight package with music set to it. Are we supposed to pretend that nothing bad ever happens to the team you're rooting for? Does it make NU less of a program to show it giving up a TD? No and no.

True fans remember the weekly NET show that covered the entire game tape, good or bad, as coaches and players analyzed the Xs and Os and taught us about the game itself and also our favorite team. Just chalk this one up to another over-marketed, low quality, sell-out-for-the-dollar production for the dumbed-down fan base.

Also, would someone tell Bo Pelini that he is making more than a million dollars a year and owes the public more than his mumbled, four-word answers when he's mad about a bad practice or game? He's a good coach, but his spoiled brat routine is tiresome. Coaches are supposed to be the rock around which a program rallies in bad times.

  1. Good stuff. I can remember the old NET shows. Wonder if you could find an old one from the 80's on youtube?
