Who Dat say they going to be dem Saints?? The Saints! From Carney shanking the extra point after the River City Relay to Brooks throwing a backward pass (which I still won’t watch till this day) to Turley snatching and shotputting opponents’ helmets, to infinite bonehead penalties the Saints have had a habit of losing games by their own ridiculous actions. After marching to the 2006 NFC Championship and faltering to the Bears (and the weather!), the Saints have underachieved (kind way of putting it) the past two seasons. What does this season hold in store for my Saints? Well despite having arguably the most prolific offense in the league, they also have arguably the most Swiss-cheese defense. That could change since DC Gary Gibbs finally got the boot (3 years overdue) and we brought in the hard-nosed Gregg Williams to run the show. Then shed the least intimidating safety in history Kaesviharn and the non-productive Bullocks (sorry Husker boys). Replacing them with the OG Darren Sharper and the promising but oft-injured Roman Harper. But the most exciting news of recently is the long-awaited waiving of Jason “I Couldn’t Cover Leftovers with Saran Wrap” David! Every QB/WR combo had that look of a kid’s first birthday with party hats and streamers, ready to eat him up like cake and ice cream. I wish you well elsewhere man. With a stream of promising youngsters at DB– (Malcolm Jenkins, Usama Young, and Tracy Porter) and solid vets in the box (Fujita, Vilma, Grant, W.Smith, and saved the best for last Shanle (ha), Nawlins’ D should be much improved. On the other side of the ball, you know the deal already. First names only- Drew, Marques, Reggie, Jeremy, Lance, Devery, and you’ll soon know Pierre. Now if Mr. $12 million, I’ll repeat $12 MILLION Bush can get over 3.8 ypc, the sky is the limit. I’m shooting for 11-5, but I’ll keep my paper bags just in case.
Nice post. Keep em coming....
