Give Me a Quarter....I'll Tell You Your Fortune....(for you, Mr. Brink)
2009 Nebraska Game-by-Game Predictions:
FAU--Win (Sun Belt champs)
Arkansas St.--Win (Sun Belt champs)
@ Virginia Tech--Loss (Sorry, first-year QB, first road start)
LA-Lafayette--(Sun Belt champs.....so embarrassing..TO, please give us a non-conference schedule we can defend AND keep a straight face..still much tougher than Penn St.)
@ Missouri--Win (Tough with semi-new QB, but defense should be improved and Gabbert sucks)
Texas Tech--Win (TT loses a ton of playmakers and NU owes the Raiders for two recent heartbreakers)
ISU--Win (The Clones did handle the juggernaut from North Dakota last nite, however)
@ Baylor--Win (Will be tough, but I think Pinelli draws up a good scheme to neutralize Griffin)
Oklahoma--Loss (Gap was enormous last year, it closes this year, but not enough)
@ Kansas--Win (KU isn't as loaded as some say on offense, NU handled them last year)
Kansas State--Win (Don't forget your Power Towel!)
@ Colorado--Loss (Just because you never know in this series and NU should win this game)
Prediction: 9-3. This is my most generous prediction, because a loss at Missouri or Baylor is very possible. I just don't believe in Blaine Gabbert to replace Chase Daniel...hell Chase Daniel sucked the last half of 2008. But Gabbert's numbers in high school were very suspect, as is his durability. I think if NU is prepared for a battle at Baylor, they will be able to grind out a W. However, 8-4 is a good possibility. The right luck & development make 10-2 possible, if not probable...and the wrong injuries or lack of focus put 6-6 into the picture as well.

ReplyDeletedo you remember that arcade game in Lincoln that said "Give me a quarter....."????
ReplyDeletehey pyb -- what do you think of blaine gabbert now?
ReplyDeleteI think Navy passed for 17 yards per completion and 69+% against the pride of the Big 10 Ohio State, and Gabbert's opponent was middle of the pack in that conference.
