1. Texas--This ranking is by default. The Horns' weak schedule will prove little to the nation, as we suspect they're not quite as good as others do. Never won hardware before VY and haven't come close after VY.
2. OU--Could be very temporary if backup QB Landry Jones is as bad as he looked Saturday.
3. Oklahoma State--Getting huge props for win over Georgia, who was wildly overrated last season and lost its best two players. Nice win, groundbreaking......no.
4. Mizzou--Blaine Gabbert went for 319 and 4 TDs vs. Illinois.....but Navy complete 69% of its passes vs. Big-10 foe Ohio State. So we'll see what happens against real competition. The Big 10 is not that.
5. NU--Only real concern is whether a playmaking WR will emerge for the big games. There is enough talent on defense to be top 30 in the nation.
6. Kansas--As always, a horrible non-conference schedule. Wake me when they something meaningful.
7. Baylor--Nice road win. Show us some consistency and we'll jump on the bandwagon.
8. Texas Tech--Narrow win over a pathetic opponent, UND. Could be danger time for their psychotic coach.
9. aTm--Are they even a factor? Smashed NM, which must have the worst two CFB teams in America. It's doubtful Mike Sherman will succeed here.
10. Colorado--Could be a long season in Boulder. See link below to recap the chaotic situation. Buffs haven't mattered on the national scene in ages.
11. Kansas State--Don't forget your Power Towel. No team deserves to be in the shitter more than this one.....who counterfeited its way to national prominence by playing the most embarrassing schedule ever......
12. Iowa State--Some things never change. At least Ames residents can still walk around acting like they're culturally superior because they have a nice campus and have had five good basketball teams since 1984.

ReplyDeletewell maybe it's not nice anymore...haven't been thru it since 1987. but i was only 13 so who knows....maybe it always sucked!
