As we cite another article from the "Get a Life" department, enjoy the pictures from Rehab at the Hard Rock in Las Vegas. Not the creepy Rapelisberger-type on the left, but the skank with fake jugs and, in particular, the ass off to the bottom left.
Also, kudos to Steve Sipple for blessing us his latest effort which cover all his prerequisites: no depth, original thought or clarity. We've all read this same drivel 70 times by now on the huskerpedia.com links. He even admits as much at the end of the column! Fucking sad.
Enjoy the skankage....
On another note, Sweetness is no Zac Lee. Runs faster, throws better....Cool video here...
Apollo Racks Up Third Straight Win
Apollo’s Phoenix, sparked by the return of Barry Kelley, soundly beat FOC 60-48 last Wednesday at Escalante community center. But despite what appears to be an easy win, questions about focusing all 40 minutes of the game still remain.
Kelley gave Phoenix an added burst of energy that the team didn’t have the week prior, as his constant on-court talk, banter with the referees and coaching and cheering from the bench helped spur his teammates on. He didn’t even score his first bucket until near the end of the first half, but began snaring his eight rebounds early and often in the first half. He and teammate Doug Qualls owned the boards and established dominance in the lane.
With Dave Burrows and Rich Davis ratcheting up the defensive pressure at the guard position, Phoenix jumped out to a 13-5 lead at the 12:15 mark of the first half. Davis then started pouring in three pointers on his way to a game-high 19 points and pushed the lead to 22-10.
What may have been a morale concern with the return of Davis and Kelley, was quickly forgotten as the role players on the bench cheered heartily for the starting five. The starters reciprocated when they came out of the game, and cheered on the bench players who came in ready to contribute. This show of unity helped Phoenix roll to a 39-20 lead.
What became apparent was the fact that Phoenix will be driven by its defensive intensity. Given the opponents slow pace and referees’ whistles, playing a run-and-gun offense is a tough proposition. Transition points will come more from pressuring the opposing guards and stealing the ball than it will after missed buckets. Burrows, despite having four turnovers in the first half, had three steals. Davis had four, and Jimmy Kelly had two.
The second half left some concern for Phoenix, as the intensity level definitely fell through the floor given the big lead. Burrows’ floater and runner in the lane were both off, and the team’s two-for-eight showing from the free throw strip is alarming and concerning, as a close game later in the season will surely be decided from the charity line.
The Phoenix loss of focus allowed FOC to cut the lead to 47-37 with 9:16 to play, but the game was never seriously in question. Perhaps this league should institute the old CBA rule of Quarter Points, to keep the squad focused on its mission of playing a four-quarter basketball game.
However, what was lost in the big lead was probably gained in chemistry, as the bench players logged significant minutes in the second half. Brad, #9, was impressive in his effort and scored four points, grabbed three rebounds and made several energy plays that show up only on the Hustle Board at USAirways Arena.
If it weren’t for Davis’ four steals, he would have been eligible for the Allan Houston award, given each game to a player who lights up the scoring column and contributes nothing else. Qualls had six points, and nine rebounds. Burrows had a nice, balanced game, as he added 11 points and four rebounds and four assists to his steals. Kelley finished with 11 points and showed the ability to be the leader this squad needs. For his efforts, he comes away with the Spinato’s Pizzeria Player of the Game.
Most intriguing will be how the team gels as its leading scorer returns after a one-game hiatus. John, aka Trajan Langdon, scored 22 points in the last game, but questions remain as to whether this will be an effort he can produce weekly and if he can reproduce such scoring against a top-notch defender.
Phoenix looks to go 4-1 this Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. against TGA of the Valley (2-2).

Flyin' Ryan Elrod....Won't Give Up the Dream...
Just a sad pictorial here....once a Nebraska high school basketball star, now relegated to hanging on to the dream of being a STUD PRO softball player! Not only was he stuck in high school, playing in Lincoln, Nebraska's top league....he also came out to beat up on the poor stiffs in the D Leagues. PYB got to witness him hit three HRs right-handed, only to hit one left-handed to make the score 45-3 or whatever the hell it was. OK, that was 13 years ago and he is a FUCKING loser!! Let's go down the list as to why, and these are just the ones proven by the included pictures:
Picture 1 (Bottom)
1. Caesar haircut. Not fresh since Steve Carmer rolled it in 1989.
2. Holding a bat. Not since age 17 have most males held their bat with such pride.
3. Wearing a softball jersey.
4. Wearing a sleeveless softball jersey.
5. Wearing jeans with a softball jersey.
6. Wearing designer jeans w/ softball jersey. In Lincoln, where nobody gives a shit.
7. Spends significant minutes in a tanning bed.
8. He's posing for these pictures in the first place.
9. Posing with girlfriend.
10. Posing with girlfriend who is the Queen of Lincoln, but a '5' in any major city.
11. Posing with a girl wearing a softball jersey. Sleeveless. With jeans.
12. She also has designer jeans...and a bat....
Picture 2 (Middle)
13. Look, Mom! I can switch hit just like Mickey Fucking Mantle!!
14. Feels the need to flex the pipes so we all know how fucking ripped he is.
15. He feels sorry for us pussies who don't spend 20 hours a week in the gym.
16. Lets his girl pose for a close-up: Judging by the lack of tone in her arms, she's not allowed to do P-90X with you?
Picture 3 (Top)
17. Sheds the sleeveless jersey to cruise the beach and show us again how ripped he really is
18. Posts tropical vacation pictures to show how awesome his life is compared to yours
19. Doesn't realize anyone outside Lincoln doesn't need to brag about beach trips.
20. Still showing off the 5-on-a-scale-of-10 girlfriend.

21. Lists interests as sand volleyball, softball, and working out. FUCK YEAH!
22. Favorite movies/shows are of the mentally challenging variety: Remember the Titans & Varsity Blues, Friends and AFV among them!
23. More pictures! Have fun.
24. He is a machine. A cyborg. Pro photog by day, pro softball player by night.
All Talk...
So much for the idea that Niles Paul is dedicated to being a leader and having a big senior season. The guy is full of shit. Never has a player who racked up 796 yards and a whopping FOUR receiving TDs received so much love from a fan base that couldn't recognize a good receiver if they saw it.
When he's not racking up those Heisman-esque numbers, he's busy racking up DUIs and now MIPS, then telling the public he finally understand what it takes to contribute at the D-I level. Then he's getting a 15-yard penalty for flexing after finally making a big play---against a shitty Arizona team nonetheless. PYB thinks that if you've singlehandedly lost your team two games earlier that season, you keep your Studio Gangster flexing to yourself. Stayed tuned for another underwhelming season in 2010. Bottom line: slow players with no moves don't excel in major college football. Especially ones that can't keep from getting busted for various booze-related offenses.
Gone are the days when NU's "studs" racked up titles. Now their overhyped, baby "playmaker" is brought to tears as he hoists the Holiday Bowl's trophy with Shamu on the top.

Tribute to the 80s
Thanks to 3:10 to Beatrice for this picture, even though it's a bit stalkerish to take this poor fuck's picture. And on that 80s inspired note, you can watch this Gleaming Spires video that's been running through our mind for some unknown reason this week...
And fuck it, one more for good measure...in honor of Donger's 42nd birthday..."We have bush..."
-Easy on the ego, Jack. The next person we talk to that enjoys playing your courses will be the first...
-It was great to watch the end of this Wimbledon classic yesterday, as John Isner beat Nicolas Mahut 70-68 in the fifth set. Even better was watching the French pussy sulk in his chair afterward.
-What a terrible NBA draft. Not one senior in the lottery portion of the first round. So watered down, this year with no European injection of talent. Cole Aldrich (aka Poor Man' Ostertag), picked 11th, can barely run and was shut down twice by Big-12-cellar-dweller Nebraska--being outplayed by their freshman center Brian Diaz. Have averaged 11 points and 10 rebound on the season. Xavier Henry went 12th--after racking up a whopping 13 ppg in his only college season. But NBA analysts praised his passing ability, too. After all, he did have 53 assists....for the season....to average 1.5 apg.
Top pick John Wall, completely underwhelming statistics for a Number One. 16.6 ppg and 6.5 apg. And we all saw what his team did when they finally played a good team. West Virginia dominated the Wildcats 73-66. Talented yes, guaranteed NBA stud...not even close.

MVC....
Is this for real? Get a hobby, or find something worthwhile to write about. Either way, quit wasting our fucking time. Is this all it takes to get on huskerpedia.com now?
Click here if you don't have laundry to fold....
And 7000 words on this dead horse? NU vs. PSU 1994....
Glad NU now has nine QBs....hopefully they're ready to switch positions...
And finally, thanks for the fucking aneurysm.
Husker blogs suck cock. Get a life.
Tied at 43-43 at wimbledon??!!! Make that 59-59. Nice to see something like this, not pre-produced made for TV bullshit...

Tempe Rec League Week 3 Recap
Even though Apollo’s Phoenix blasted US Airways 60-34 Wednesday night, the 26-point win left a lot to be desired from the talented but unfocused squad. The outcome was never in question, but if Phoenix is to contend for the league championship in the weeks to come, the team will have to improve in several areas.
Phoenix started sluggishly, despite the efforts of acting point guard Dave Burrows to increase the pace and score some easy transition baskets. Part of this could be attributed to the Phoenix’s lack of effort initially, but the spacious and quiet environment of Escalante Community Center was a major factor as well.
Doug Qualls helped Phoenix pull away from US Airways by controlling the defensive glass and chipping in a couple baskets to start the scoring. Qualls also sank three quick free throws, one after a US Airways technical foul, helping his team jump out to a 20-8 advantage. His solid play sparked his teammates and Trajan Langdon look-alike John began his hot shooting night with several scores, which included three pointers, drives to the rim and smooth turn-around jumpers. His game-high 22 points were the reason that Phoenix barely broke a sweat while improving to 2-1 on the season.
Phoenix pushed the lead to 20, but let US Airways back in the game with some poor substitutions. Phoenix’s best three players watched the final minutes of the first half from the bench, and US Airways cut the lead to just 11 at halftime.
Phoenix made a point to start the second half with more focus, and used its offensive sets to work the ball to the high post. After a couple of easy buckets inside, US Airways was forced to concentrate on the paint and Phoenix opened up the scoring from three-point range. They quickly pushed the lead to more than 20. The fact that the transition game is nonexistent is definitely a concern, as the referees’ happy whistles could make any half-court game close in coming weeks.
However, the team lost focus, not that it mattered against US Airways. If they are to beat top-notch competition, they will have to add more fire and mental toughness. Both Burrows and Jimmy Kelly were prone to dropping their heads and slumping their shoulders after a miss or turnover, despite the fact that they played solid games. Burrows had eight points, three rebounds, three assists and two steals, while Kelly added seven points and two steals.
Chemistry also seems to be missing to this point. There is no in-team bickering, but there isn’t the cohesiveness that is seen from most championship teams. Perhaps this will improve as the new teammates get to know each other over the season’s final four weeks. However, Barry Kelley and Rich Davis both missed the game due to personal reasons, and four weeks is not a lot of time to mold into a champion.
Adam provided nice energy as the backup-point guard, but his tendency to dribble too much could cost the Phoenix against opponents with quick guards who can steal the ball. Phoenix will look to improve to 3-1 on June 23 against league whipping boy FOC, who stands at 1-2. Questions still remain for this squad, most importantly:
-How will the team integrate Kelly and Davis after three missed games combined?
-Will they score consistently enough without a true, athletic slasher to dissect defenses?
-With most of the players on the wrong side of 30, do they have the desire to battle for a title?
-How good is their defense? Their guards can create steals but shotblocking and rebounding depth remain suspect.

Sunday at the US Open
Leave it to the Devil (ESPN) to ruin Thursday and Friday's US Open golf coverage, by saddling viewers with that slobbering buffoon Chris Berman. Berman, who continues to nickname-drop like it's 1985 and his act is still fresh. Berman, who roars over some of the finest golf analysts around, to make sure he gets in his jokes and double entendres. Berman, who is unbearable to watch these days, even when covering his forte, NFL football. Go away Chris, it's PYB by 20 years.
Even worse, NBC got on the bandwagon of ruining coverage Saturday, by continuously showering viewers with highlights of Tiger Woods' 66--which has him a mere FIVE shots off the lead. All the while, we were missing live shots of the leaders Dustin Johnson and Graeme McDowell. While we were graced with at least three recaps of Tiger's "charge", Johnson's 66 (which is more impressive considering he was playing at the top) was barely mentioned.
And worst of all, how can all these fans be rooting for Woods? The same guy who banged a million whores behind his wife's back? Who still treats everyone like they are his peasants? Who is a bad person? Who reportedly has multiple unclaimed bastards running around? It is sickening to watch, and it makes one wonder: are their lives seriously that bad that they look up to a person like Woods?
So PYB offers a big fuck off to ESPN, NBC and Woods fans on this glorious Father's Day 2010! Hefty please save the day (by the way he had a bad day yesterday and didn't blame the greens)!

Are You Ready for Some.....Excuses???
--We were "hit hard by the draft." Mike Anderson will be using this one for at least another season, until hopefully, mercifully, he gets axed.
--Now for Tiger Woods' crying. Nobody else in the field had to putt the greens at Pebble Beach Thursday? Those of you who saw the actual video of his press conference could also see how he was a prick to the media--again. Phil Mickelson blamed himself for his terrible putting yesterday. Tiger blamed an outside factor. Sex addiction, Poa Annua.....anything will do these days.
--What an NBA Finals! Seven games. All shitty. The finale was an 83-79 shootout. Was this the NAIA Division II Championship? Boston was rolling. Then the referees got the call from Stern. LA still almost lost. Terrible. Embarrassing. Even die-hard NBA fans couldn't watch. But not bad enough to get ESPN to say Bryant may have now surpassed Jordan. Laughable.

Lou Piniella is an Amateur!
Thanks to the Davis Love fan club president for this submission. A MUST VIEW!!
Wally Backman goes crazy...
Misc...
--Let's hope other Nebraska media types don't start excusing the Big 10's style of football as acceptable. The teams are terrible. Whether or not they run the spread of a traditional boring Big 11 offense, the score is still always 16-12, is always played on a crabgrass-laden field, is always plagued by slow, white linebackers and always kicks off at 6:30am. Sorry, Stemm.
But, take stock, it's just Steve Sipple. Nobody takes him seriously--not even the folks at Lincoln's titty bars--unless they enjoy the tone of a junior-high newspaper in their daily columns. If NU doesn't win the conference 80% of the time, they should be forced to leave.
--Does anyone else remember a seven-game NBA finals series that was a complete bore? This year's version hasn't had one close game. Not even one well-played game for that matter. How about one memorable moment? Well besides a couple dunks that non-basketball jerkoffs have raved over because they've never been to a gym where somebody could dunk, while others (translation: somebody who has played more recently than their senior year at Sprague High School) have seen dunks just as good in person.
--Is Kobe Bryant going to get any heat for his cheap-shot push on Kendrick Perkins, which ultimately led to Perkins' injury, the Game Six blowout and probably the NBA title (considering the refs didn't have orders from Stern to give LA the ring in Game Seven anyway)? The best part is that the ESPN highlight started rolling AFTER the push.
--Texas=Liars.

Prairie Club
--Thanks to the Donger for this reader submission....Nice video here. Anyone in for a 2011 summer trip?
--Surprise in PHX. After singlehandedly ruining the Suns for two seasons, Steve Kerr made a decent rebound in 2009-10 as the Suns made a playoff run. Now he's gone. Is it too late to re-hire Bryan Colangelo?
--Thank you, Tom Izzo. PYB surmised that Izzo's delay in deciding meant he was staying. Thank God he was smart enough to say no.
--Whatever, Pete Carroll. Screw your old school and leave for millions, avoiding the NCAA's wrath....now make inane excuses. Here's to going 6-10 next year and getting the axe!
--Good job Tiger. Keep on bangin'....

VY.....Still Soft
Not sure what is most pathetic on this here video....
1. How Vince Young got baited into this 'scuffle'?
2. How he's at a strip club trying to cover up his gayness?
3. How he's at a strip club at all?
4. How long it took him to go after the guy if he really wanted to kick his ass?
5. How this puts another black mark on an already horrible NFL career?
Another piece of evidence to add to the annals of pussy Longhorns....Can we get a cage match pitting Young, Chrissy Simms, and Colt McCoy?

USC on Probation....Finally....
--We thought we'd never see the day. USC got busted. Finally. Five years later. Bandwagon getting lighter...already....freefalling.... PYB is not sure which is most surprising....
1. How little attention this got between the inception of the case and today's announcement.
2. The fact that Lane Kiffin isn't the one who put the Trojans on probation.
3. How big a weasel Pete Carroll has turned out to be, as he ran for the hills before the curtain fell on his overrated, Rah Rah act. Fuck you, Pete.
4. Keyshawn Johnson's crybaby act on ESPN this morning, claiming the Trojans will be back and getting all the recruits they want in no time. We'd expect nothing less than this from a career possession receiver with the ego of two real WRs put together. Sounded like a bigger gash than pictured above. The number of tears ESPN will shed this season as its golden child will be disgraced for several years to come will be amazing.
If they could have banned them from playing that annoying fucking song for a few years, that would be progress....
--Solid effort, Golden. Get a fucking life. At least Jeremiah Masoli got booted for robbery and drug possession....
--Congrats to a true football player as he calls it a career.
--Tom Izzo, please don't go. Please don't make this mistake. Lebron is a mirage in the desert, and so is NBA success. The only thing that give him a glimmer of hope is that he's not a complete egomaniac and snake like those before him--Mr. Calipari and Pitino, specifically.
--How is the crabgrass this year in Lincoln?
The NBA is Rigged...
Look at this enlightening, yet disturbing recap by Tim Donaghy from the NBA Finals. He provides four quarters' worth of details, even though looking at the first four calls on the list is enough to make one sick....

Sign of the Times...
Arkansas--Qualified for Super Regional
Texas A&M--In regional championship game against Miami (suspended in the second inning)
NU--ZERO players drafted on day one of the MLB draft.
The best part is that NU has several draft prospects who are prospects because they "throw hard." Translation: NU's coaching sucks and pro coaches feel like they can be good once they get them out of Lincoln...
Good choice TO. Hope you don't fumble the Big 10 choice like you did this one...
--For anyone interested, Lee Barfknecht is back on his moral high horse. PYB is certainly glad he's around to see the angles us mere mortals can't. "Deep respect for ISU"...blah blah blah
--One bullet is all it would take here...
--Hall & Oates canceled its post-Diamondback game concert in Phoenix next month in protest of Arizona's new immigration law. Does anyone care? If you're this old and still touring, something tells PYB that you need AZ's money a hell of a lot more than it needs you for some hokey, post-game concert. Was the state fair all booked? And, judging by your before-and-after shots, you should definitely STOP PAYING your plastic surgeons...

Tempe Rec League Week 1 Recap
Jabil Knights Stun Apollo’s Phoenix
TEMPE- The big story going into the season was the nucleus formed by five very talented friends, who hoped to lead Apollo’s Phoenix from preseason favorite to league championship. That mission got off to a rocky start as the Jabil Knights shocked Phoenix 78-67.
The Knights controlled the game from tipoff, despite starting off at a man disadvantage. They played four-on-five for the game's first five minutes, keeping the game relatively even until their 6-foot-6 center arrived. With their center Doug Qualls pulling a Lamar Odom and honeymooning in Jamaica, the Phoenix were soon to be overmatched.
Losing control of the paint, the Phoenix fell behind by 10 points at halftime. Even though they were shorthanded on the bench, the Knights dominated the game with their transition game and height advantage and pushed the lead to 15 at one point. They destroyed Phoenix's man-to man-defense and forced them to switched to zone.
As soon as Phoenix cut the lead to two with five minutes remaining, missed free throws and ill-advised shots killed their momentum. The lack of chemistry, lack of focus, and blown defensive assignments doomed Phoenix for the majority of the game. Former Grand Canyon University star Rich Davis got off to a rough shooting night, but did hit some key shots in the second half and had some good steals.
Dave Burrows, after showing questionable commitment to conditioning recently, lacked the stamina to necessary to finish off his opponent. He led the team in scoring but tired during the game's final minutes. The Phoenix dearly needed his leadership to help tie together all this team's new parts.
Barry Kelley did a good job battling on the boards and had some nice buckets, but struggled to finish at the rim at times. James Kelly had some nice fast-break buckets, but his other shots weren’t falling. Kelly again allowed the officials' calls to affect his play, and is on the verge of becoming the Tempe Rec League's version of Rasheed Wallace. The rest of the team had moments here and there, but were plagued by too many lapses. They will look to rebound and even their record at 1-1 next week against South Scottsdale. Tip time is 8:10 p.m.

Leave it to the Devil....
NCAA Baseball....and other stuff...
--Not to beat a dead horse, but why not? Former NU pitching coach Rob Childress led his Texas A&M Aggies to a 17-3 win over FIU in first-round regional play. This a week after coaching aTm to the Big 12 Conference tournament championship. So much for Mike Anderson's excuse that 'even Rob was struggling in today's environment.' The loser's credo.
To add insult to shitty coaching at NU, Dave Van Horn's Arkansas squad breezed past Grambling 19-7. The Hogs are strong and will likely run deep into NCAA play, showing NU fans what they used to have and how far they are from college's elite. Anderson is a weight tied to the ankle of the program, and it's drowning quickly.
--On a happier note, Tiger woods is 10 shots back at the Memorial. He will never be the same, and it's extremely doubtful that he'll ever eclipse Jack Nicklaus's 18 major championships. When one thinks about it, how long was Woods' layoff really? Four+ months? Not that long, considering how far he is from winning right now. His ego and fake image have been crushed. He thrived off the clueless fans that raved for him, thrived off being untouchable, thrived off pounding a different slut nightly. Now that he has to live the life of a good person, he's finished.
--Apparently moving Carlos Zambrano back to the Cubs' starting rotation didn't help. Four innings, three runs, an ERA still over six. He sucked in his first starting stint, sucked in the bullpen, now sucks again as a starter. Is the lack of steroids catching up to him and the rest of the Cubs? Aramis Ramirez can barely hit either. They have no speed and rarely steal a base. Alfonso Soriano is not a power threat anymore. Derrek Lee--once in a while. Calling Mr. Galea!!
