Move the ball against good teams--no (see Miami 2002. Lost the QB job to pre-injury Newcombe, who was a better overall QB, and quit. Solich chased him to Omaha after Crouch went crying like a little baby and ruined the team-before-self mantra for 10 seasons. Also quit the NFL and EuroLeague countless times.
And "true option QB" is a complete misnomer. Had no idea how to pitch or how to space or time the play itself. Little Eric run left with his ball, Baby Eric run right with his ball. Lack of training from predecessor at Millard North was probably the reason here.
