Interesting notes from this article:
1. Gilmore doesn't want to risk an injury by practicing in the rain? And we wonder why today's player is soft. An LJS article quoted Paul as saying he was "getting down on himself".....these kids need constant hand holding, apparently. The fact that these kids need constant motivation from game to game is sad, and the talk about becoming 'focused' and 'a leader' is all lip service.
2. Shawn Watson puts out a pathetic effort in Columbia, and skips the media session in the first practice following the game. A chicken move, consistent with Pelini's chickenshit media policies. Won't address the blackshirt issue, won't address Helu's shoulder, wouldn't address the flu issue last week.
3. Back to the rain issue: if you haven't practiced in it, you won't be able to execute if & when it happens. Keeping your feet under you and slowing down enough to catch the ball or make cuts is something that is learned. Truly sad coaching philosophy....if it qualifies as that.
